ABOUT ME

Jose- Juan MENDEZ, lawyer, founding partner and general director of Mendez + Cortes, S.C., has a professional practice in the Intellectual and Industrial Property area of more than 25 years. He is former President of the Mexican Corporate Lawyers, Bar Association (ANADE), current Vice president of the Mexican Association of Intellectual Property (AMPPI), which is the national group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). and member of the Organizing Committee for the AIPPI Congress in Cancun 2018. He is as well, expert witness acknowledged by The Mexican Copyright Office Mr. Mendez won the Client Choice Award 2016 in IP in Mexico and contributed in the new reform in the IP Law, regarding the New Opposition System in Mexico. He is the official contributor of the “Opposition Guide in Mexico” for the INTA. He has participated as a speaker in several national and international forums, as well as a columnist in multiple media regarding IP issues.
