ABOUT ME

Legal Practitioner in private practice since January 1982 and currently partner in law firm, Coghlan, Welsh & Guest since 1989. Assignments include providing legal services and advice on the law of Intellectual Property and ongoing national policing and enforcement services for many clients with very valuable trademarks, patents and copyrights, and I have been highly successful in dissuading infringers through cease and desist actions and litigation, where necessary. I have gained vast experience in Intellectual Property litigation on all forums from the Registrar, the Tribunal through to the High Court and Supreme Court. I am heavily involved in corporate governance and compliance, regulatory issues, more particularly the interpretation of a diverse range of legislation, evaluating its impact on organizations and policy development. I sit on various boards including Ariston Holdings Limited, NICOZ Diamond Insurance Limited (where she is Deputy Chairperson of the Board), National Tyre Services Limited and African Century Limited. I am also an avid member of the International Bar Association in which I am a member of the African Regional, Mergers and Acquisitions and Practise Management Forums and Committees.
