ABOUT ME

Sumit is an IP strategist & registered patent agent. Starting his IP career with Evalueserve, Sumit then moved to Thomson Reuters-Pangea3, where he last served as Vice President – Intellectual Property Operations, before pursuing independent practice. He has been part of the international IP Services industry since it took root in India. He has over 15 years of experience in starting & building IP teams to service Fortune 100 clients, and providing IP advisory services. Sumit spearheaded and personally developed numerous operating procedures, best practices, processes, and Six-Sigma & ISO/IEC 27001 certified workflow protocols, training programs, and software tools for IP research & analytics that have now become industry standard among some of the top international IP services firms in India. An Electronics & Communication Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, he has served as the President of the alumni association for the same, and presently serves as the Convener of the Strategic Planning Group at Pan IIT, an umbrella alumni association for all IITs.
