ABOUT ME

Vaishali Mittal, a Partner at Anand and Anand, works in the Litigation Department of the firm. She is a law graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia University and BA History (Hons) from Delhi University where she was a gold medalist in her subject. She has been associated with the firm since 2003. She has over 14 years of experience with a strong background in IP laws and experience in litigation, prosecution, consultation and drafting. Ms. Mittal has a strong appreciation and valuable knowledge of critical strategies for litigation of IP issues in the Indian Courts having acted for several highly reputed international and national clients. Besides litigation, she also has extensive experience in securing the best interest of the firms’ clients through negotiating deals including licensing of standard essential patents and other IP as well as acquisition of intangibles. Dispute resolution through alternate means including mediation, arbitration and conciliation are also some of Ms. Mittal’s additional attributes. Ms. Mittal is considered as one of the key pillars of the litigation department at Anand and Anand handling complex litigation. She has been a crucial member of the team advising and acting for several clients who hold standard essential patents. She has also been involved in several landmark judgments in diverse fields of law including infringement and securing of royalties for standard essential patents; securing royalties from the court in cases concerning copyright infringement and licensing, declaration of several trademarks as well-known, piracy of design and several critical issues outside the field of IP such as safeguarding human rights, development of a sports code for India. Her invaluable contribution to such cases and their respective outcome has brought repute to the firm and her handling of seriously contested IP matters has won several accolades from the firm’s clients.
