ABOUT ME

Prem is the founding partner of Rajani Associates with a valued experience of more than 25 years. Having passed his LL.B. examination from Government Law College, Mumbai in May 1990, Prem went on to then pass the Solicitors examination conducted by the Bombay Incorporated Law Society in March 1992 and the Solicitors examination conducted by Law Society, London, in April 1994. Prem has been fortunate to have his career evolve with the evolvement of Foreign Exchange Laws in India. He has also been lucky to study and practice FERA along with FDI Policy as soon as the same was introduced in India in 1991 and also see the advent of FEMA and its evolvement. Along with the gradual opening up of various sectors, Prem continued to gain knowledge with respect to each such sector, including telecom and aviation. Although he has created a niche for the corporate practice, Prem has not been away from and has had a share of experience in both the specialized fields of conveyance and litigation. This diverse experience of Prem, across various practice areas of Law, has helped him evolve into the complete lawyer he is today. Having said that, what Prem enjoys the most today is Structuring and Mergers and Acquisitions and of late, Insolvency. While the Firm (and the partners) render services across various spectrum of legal services, including, capital market, PE, M&A, banking & finance, real estate & trust, litigation & arbitration, project & project finance, etc.; personally Prem works on (and keeps a periodical update) on the following topics- • Companies Act and other corporate laws • SEBI (in particular, Takeover, Insider Trading, Listing Agreement, REIT/ InvIT) • FEMA (FDI and ODI Policy), including, PMLA • M&A and Private Equity
