ABOUT ME

I am an experienced lawyer with a positive attitude towards achieving set goals and laid down tasks. I possess good interpersonal skills, initiative and am proactive in taking quick decisions. I am trained in aspects of Intellectual Property prosecution and protection, legal advisory work via opinion writing, regulatory and compliance, taxation, and general corporate law practice. I have advised key clients on varied IP issues raising from preliminary advice on the registrability of a trademark, to matters involving commercial issues like franchising, licensing and assignment. I provide legal advisory services to major blue chip companies and clients on Intellectual Property (IP) issues involving prosecution, opposition, enforcement and litigation. I have been involved in several legal issues arising from the various intellectual property rights vis: opinion on how conflicts between trademark and trade names are resolved, opinions on patents issues particularly duration of patents, patentable and non-patentable works. I also posses skills on domain name registration and handling of disputes arising from unauthorised use of companies domain name. I have advised several multinational companies on the best method to take in dealing with unauthorised usage of their domain names. I have also filed several complaints for clients using the UDRP policy and NIRA domain name dispute platform. In terms of regulatory and compliance experience, I have assisted businesses/companies in Identifying, assessing, reviewing and controlling business operational and compliance risks in an effective and efficient manner. I have researched questions of law, public policy and fact situations and prepared advisory opinion for companies into pharmaceutical, financial services, agro allied businesses and fast moving consuming goods.
