Partner in the Firm and leads the Life Sciences practice of the Firm. Enrolled with Bar in 1992, has been in the Indian IPR fraternity for over 22 years. A Bachelor of Sciences in Biology and Chemistry, also holds Bachelor of Laws and Master in Laws degrees. Have vast experience in rendering patentability opinion, patent searches including freedom to operate search, drafting patent specification, filing national, International and PCT applications, handling patent applications in diverse fields of technology, especially in chemistry, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, designs applications and patent/designs oppositions and enforcement. Provides strategic advise to the clients in handling and maintaining of their patent portfolios. Well experienced in handling applications related to protection of plant variety and obtaining necessary approvals from National Biodiversity Authority. Regularly invited by various institutes for delivering lectures on IP laws and judging moot court competitions by various universities. An active participant in many international and domestic conferences and has also contributed many articles in renowned magazines related to IP. Regularly invited by DIPP and Indian Patent Office to discuss policy related issues and have been instrumental in finalizing the guidelines related to Pharma and Patent amendment Rules. Currently , holding a position of Vice-President , Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA). Has also been voted as a leading IPR attorney in India in a number of IP surveys conducted by renowned IP publications.
