ABOUT ME

Dr. B.B.Singh holds a first class Master's degree in Physics and Ph. D. in biology from the University of London. He was formerly with India’s prime nuclear institute Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) as Head, Radiation Biology & Biochemistry Divisions. He worked also with United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency at Vienna as the Head of Radiation Biology & Health Related Environmental Research. He has been Visiting Professor at the University of Hannover in Germany and a research Fellow at the Institute of Intellectual Properties of the University of Tokyo. He is presently a practicing lawyer primarily at the Bombay High Court and received his master’s degree (LL M.) on his research work “Law Relating to IPRs vis-a-vis biomedical technologies in India”. He has played a pivotal role in the formulation of Indian Patents Act 2005 and in agreements and laws related to nuclear policy and industry in India. He is also a Scientific Adviser appointed under The Patent Act 2005 He is recipient of several Awards. In his honour the Indian Association for Hyperthermic Oncology and Medicine has instituted "Dr. B. B. Singh Oration Award" for foreign scientists to visit India biennially and deliver lectures on their cancer related research work
