ABOUT ME

Dr. Volker Mann is a German Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney. Being a European Trademark and Design Attorney, Dr. Volker Mann is also admitted to the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM). Dr. Volker Mann holds a Master's degree in chemistry from the Justus Liebig University in Giessen/Germany. His Ph.D.-thesis is entitled "Untersuchungen an Pyridinium-Kationen". Dr. Volker Mann is a European Patent Attorney since 1980 and a German Patent Attorney since 1983. During completing his German bar exam Dr. Volker Mann also worked in a US patent law firm in New York in 1978. Memberships of Dr. Volker Mann include the Chamber of German Patent Attorneys, the organisation of European Patent Attorneys (epi), FICPI and the German association of patent engineers and assessors (VPP). The German Minister of Justice has appointed Dr. Volker Mann for two terms as a member of the examination committee for German Patent Attorneys. By order of the Chamber of Commerce Dr. Volker Mann advises inventors complimentarily in their possibilities and rights concerning intellectual property. In the office of Bonnekamp & Sparing, Dr. Volker Mann is particularly responsible for the fields of general chemistry, having a specific focus on life science (e.g. pharmaceuticals for human beings and animals, flavour and fragrances, and natural products) and technical materials (e.g. polymers, technical ceramics, and solar silicon). Dr. Volker Mann is particularly involved in: prosecuting applications in Germany and other countries, especially before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office and other responsible Authorities in Germany and other countries opposition and appeal proceedings, nullity proceedings litigation proceedings in the field of intellectual property infringement suits of intellectual property rights in Germany and transboundary national and transborder expert opinions of validity
