ABOUT ME

Dr Dinesh Kumar V, presently working as Deputy General Manager (IPR) for Rights & Marks- an Intellectual Property Law firm, Chennai has completed his Post Graduation from the campus of Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and later pursued PhD in Bio-Nanotechnology from University of Madras as a Senior Researcher in Loyola College, Chennai. He published around five national and international research publications and as co-inventor in two patent filings. Before joining the office of Rights & Marks- an Intellectual Property Rights Firm, he began his career as Research Associate and later got promoted to the position of Project Scientist (IPR) for Patent Information Centre at Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu in Chennai. During this period, he had played a proactive role in taking the initiative of establishing the IPR Cells in Universities (IPCU’s) with the help of Ministry of Science & Technology and coordinated them to guide in providing information & filing assistance on IPR, especially Patents and Copyright filing procedures in India. He conducted topic specific IPR sensitization workshops and campaigns for the students, scholars and scientists in the universities, engineering colleges and R&D institutions. He provided guidance on intellectual property strategies as well as analyze third- party intellectual property competitive intelligence. He successfully completed the in-service training at Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of Technology Information Forecasting Assessment Council (TIFAC), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India at New Delhi on IPR Issues, Patent Database tools, Innovation Management in Knowledge Era and IP Consultancy & Management Division.
