ABOUT ME

Mr. Afamefuna Francis Nwokedi has over 27years of practice experience especially in the areas of intellectual property and corporate commercial law. He is Founder and Principal Partner of Stillwaters Law Firm and prior to that was for many years the Head of Chambers and Litigation in the law firm of David Garrick & Co. Mr. Nwokedi is considered and acknowledged as a consummate courtroom advocate. He has been involved in several litigation matters before all the superior courts (High Courts, Appeal Court and the Supreme Court) in Nigeria, and has represented and won a several cases including his landmark victory for Beecham Products in their celebrated case against General Nutrition. He is the curent Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Section of Business Law of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). A member several local and international associations including: Association of European Lawyers (AEA), AIPPI, BMM, IBA, IPLAN, APAA and many others. He was also a member of the Committee set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria for the establishment of an Intellectual Property Commission in Nigeria. Mr. Nwokedi has presented several papers on intellectual property law around the world. He is considered as an authority in Intellectual Property law in Nigeria and has been awarded the Order of International Merit by the American Biographical Institute. Mr. Nwokedi is an avid reader with a passion for chess and soccer.
