ABOUT ME

Benoit Misonne has contributed and coordinated the implementation of EU-China IP cooperation initiatives for over a decade, from strategy formulation to the design and delivery of cooperation solutions supporting EU-China's IP dialogue. In 2013, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) appointed him as IP Key’s Team Leader in Beijing, China, where he heads a technical experts’ team and is responsible for the day to day management and direction. Benoit was previously engaged on earlier EU-China cooperation initiatives led by the European Patent Office (EPO) and international consultancies including Big Four firms. He has contributed to the development and implementation of hundreds of cooperation initiatives in areas such as innovation and IP related policy drafting and law-making, IP management strategies as well as civil, criminal and administrative enforcement of IP rights. He has extensive and insightful knowledge of sector specific IP related issues, from information and communication technologies to consumer products (pharmaceuticals, foods and beverages, etc.), through online service industries. Benoit holds master degrees in International Business Studies and Political Sciences from the College of Europe. He has co-authored a number of studies and articles in the field of IP protection.
